There are 3 things that I remember of Don; his smile, his laugh and of course his words. Every
Friday, those who worked with Don anxiously awaited the Friday Flakker. The entertainment
factor alone was first class. There were contests, opinions and word combinations that boggled
the mind. Don always had a way to put even the hard to comprehend situation into perspective.
Those of us privileged to call him a friend and co-worker have been made better by his words.
There is a song which sums up Don’s eloquent expressionism. The song is called, simply,
“Words.”
We thank you for sharing those many words with us over the years. They brought
encouragement, truth and laughter to many.

Smile an everlasting smile, a smile can bring you near to me
Don’t ever let me find you gone, ‘cause that would bring a tear to me
This world has lost its glory; let’s start a brand new story now my love
Right now there’ll be no other time and I can show you how my love
Talk in everlasting words and dedicate them all to me
And I will give you all my life. I’m here if you should call to me
You think that I don’t even mean a single word I say
It’s only words, and words are all I have to take your heart away
